Ensure Resident Rights

These rights are not only ethical obligations—they are enforceable legal protections that ensure residents live with dignity, autonomy, and safety.

Quality of Care

It is your role to ensure that residents receive the right care, at the right time, and in the right way to live their fullest lives.

Complaints and Grievances

Each concern carries its own significance, urgency, and potential impact on regulatory compliance, and we genuinely value these insights to help us improve and ensure everyone's well-being.

About the course

This course empowers long-term care staff to recognize, protect, and advocate for residents’ rights while promoting high standards of care and a culture of respect. Participants will explore how quality of care is closely tied to honoring each resident’s voice, preferences, and autonomy. Through interactive learning, participants will gain a deeper understanding of federal requirements for resident rights, including dignity, choice, safety, and access to care. The course also highlights the grievance and complaint process, equipping staff to respond professionally and effectively to concerns—ensuring compliance with CMS F-tags such as F550 (Resident Rights) and F585 (Grievances).
